About Department
The Department of Information technology upgraded to Post Graduate programme M.Sc. (IT), started in the year 2004 with an intake of 20 seats.The M.Sc. (Information Technology) is a two year Degree course which is divided into four semesters.The Department of Master of Science (Information Technology) degree program provides a holistic perspective to the field of Information Technology to ensure that students develop knowledge about a vast array of technology that drives 21st century business. The subject provides an amalgam of technical and management knowledge required to properly implement and manage strategies in IT security to protect technology assets, infrastructure, and data analytics.

Objectives
- To apply the knowledge of Information Technology with recent trends aligned with research and industry.
- To provide socially acceptable technical solutions in the domains of InformationSecurity, Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Embedded System, Infrastructure Services asspecializations.
- To write effective project reports, research publications and content developmentand to work in multidisciplinary environment in the context of changing technologies.
- To apply IT in the field of Computational Research, Soft Computing, Big Data Analytics, Data Science, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Cloud computing.
- The MSc-IT. Program is designed to equip the post graduate students with an integrated set of skills that will allow them to develop their careers in this area of information technology
- The main objective of the program is to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge to design Computer applications
- The MSc-IT program is intended to prepare post graduates to pursue careers in industry, as software engineers, to establish their own consulting or software development companies
- In the ever-changing scenario of technology the program helps the students to acquire the latest skills and build their future capabilities using world-class technology which builds strong foundation of computer system and Information Technology
- Prepare students to solve real-world problems using modern tools and research inputs
- The program indulges the ability to acquire social and ethical attributes that enable them in applying their skills for societal needs
- The programmme imparts Skills to work with higher end applications in Internet Technologies and students learn the managerial ability to analyze, design, and develop and to maintain software development
The department has competent faculty with academic and research experience and Co-curricular activities for experiential learning.The students develop theoretical knowledge and gain practical skills using our dedicated computing laboratories.Students are guided to carry Research based projects.A range of methods such as solving analytical problems, reports on lab-based problems, assignments using case studies, multi-tasking practical and presentations are conducted.
