About the Department
Accounting is the heart of any business as its analyses and interprets the real financial position of the business. In today’s hi-tech competitive world of real business, accountancy has assumed critical importance. Accounting is the process of collecting, recording, summarizing and communicating financial data. Accounting is a service activity, a descriptive discipline and an information system too.
The Department of Accountancy creates a stimulating environment for the academic growth of its students and provides them with a thorough understanding of a range of subjects such as Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, Direct and Indirect Tax at Under-Graduate Level and Corporate Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Direct & Indirect Tax, Cost and Management Accounting at Post Graduate Level. The Faculty members of the Department are known for their expertise in the above mentioned areas. Upon graduation, many students find placements with renowned business organisation such as Banks, Non-Banking Financial companies, manufacturing companies and services units.
To enhance the employability of the students, the department runs career-oriented certificate course on Tally Accounting Package.

- Vernacular medium students have to attempt examination in English medium, hence find it difficult specially at university level.

- Avishkar Research Papers Presentation
- Participated in Avishkar Research Convention 2016-17 and presented a Paper titled “Comparison of Defined Contribution Pension Scheme(DCPS) with Defined Benefit Scheme for College Teachers in Maharashtra” in December 2016. The paper was awarded First Prize in the University Round in Teacher’s Category. The Paper was selected for presentation in the Inter-University Avishkar Research Convention.
