About the DLLE
The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) of S.I.W.S College was established in December 2018 with the same objective set by DLLE of the University of Mumbai – ‘Reach to Unreached’.
The department aims to make students socially and culturally sensitive to impart benefits to the society as a whole. The department has opted for four Extension Work Projects of Skill Development – Industry Orientation [IOP], Career Guidance [CP], Entrepreneurship Development – Anna Poorna Yojana [APY] and Status of Women in Society [SWS] with the following objectives:
- To help students to find out information about a career before undertaking it
- To develop entrepreneur skills in students by giving them opportunities to pursue small business modules
- To enhance student employability skills
- To create the social awareness among the students
- To inculcate sense of social commitment among the students
The activities undertaken by the department is in alignment with the motto of the college “Vidya Dhanam Sarva Dhanaath Pradhanam”.
The following workshops have been conducted to enable the achievement of life skills among students

Community Service –
- Basic Computer Training Program for laboratory attendants
- Education to underprivileged street children near Wadala area in collaboration with an NGO, Robin Hood Army
Every year DLLE students attend and participate in Annual intercollegiate festival “UDAAN: the flight of Extension” organized by the University of Mumbai.
Achievements:
- First prize in Poster making competition at Annual Extension Festival — UDAAN organized by D.L.L.E. of the University of Mumbai in the Academic year 2019-20.
- Consolation prize in Street play at Annual Extension festival — UDAAN organized by D.L.L.E. of the University of Mumbai in the academic year 2019-20.
- Third Prize in Powada Singing Competition at Annual Extension Festival — Udaan organized by D.L.L.E. of the University of Mumbai in the Academic Year 2021-22.
