About Students’ Council
Students’ Council is a body of representative students from various programs who work with the sole ideal – ‘by the student and for the student’.
The members of the Students’ Council are elected/selected democratically every year with active participation of all student volunteers. All members of the Student Council are led by the General Secretary to serve in the interest of the institution and the society with dedication and integrity.
The Student Council members represent the fellow students and work with the Principal, faculty, convenors of associations and students for organizing events and also integrating faculty, administrative staff and students. Students’ Council, the voice of the students ensures that each student gets the best out of their college experience.
The Student Council members help the faculty and administration in the Admission process and the Orientation/Induction Programmes organised for freshers.
The Funding for the activities organized by the council comes from the College fees paid under the head sponsorships, advertisements and donations etc.
The Board of Management, Principal and faculty actively encourage the Student Council to interact and create networking among all for a harmonious relationship.

Mission
- To encourage the academic, professional and personal development of the students individually and as a group, in order to achieve overall excellence.
Objectives
- To uphold and implement the mission and vision of the college in a befitting manner
- To sensitize the council members to help on students’ issues
- To foster cordial relationship between students and teaching staff
- To develop leadership qualities among students
Composition
a. The council members who are selected with a fair representation of students from all programs.
b. One student from each class division, who has shown academic merit at the examination held in the preceding year and who is engaged in full time studies in the college is chosen as a Students’ Council member.
c. Students and the teacher elect class representative from each class of B.Com. / B.Sc. / BMS / BAF / BBI / BAMMC / M.Com. / B.Sc.IT /BSc. (CS), M Sc. IT and they also become a Students’ Council Member. He/she
represents the interests of the class in Student Council’s decision-making.
d. One student from each of the associations who has shown outstanding performance in Sports, cultural activities, W.D.C., N.S.S., N.C.C., D.L.L.E. and other Extension and outreach activities
e. Lady representative students who are actively involved in various college activities other than academics.
f. General Secretary elected by the Students’ Council members.
Functions
- All the members of the Students Council assist the Principal and staff in the maintenance of the order and
discipline in the college campus in general and during college functions in particular - Students Council Members cannot not use their position to be irregular in attending lectures, practical
classes
or any other way harming the interest of the institution. - They help to integrate all students by urging them to participate in all academic, co-curricular and extra-
curricular activities - Students council members actively participate in organizing seminars, workshops, debates, expert lectures,
academic festivals etc. throughout the academic year. - They motivate all students to participate in activities beyond their academic curricula so that they become
confident and well balanced individuals - The council caters to a range of interests encouraging the students to hone their unique talents and
managerial skills - The council helps students to represent the institution at events and competitions of different Colleges and
Universities - The council members also ensure timely dissemination of information regarding events, academics and
examinations
