Grievances are attended to and resolved by the Grievance Committee in the College. There are two suggestion boxes placed in the college (one on the first floor and the other on the fourth floor) where students can drop their grievances in writing. These grievances are then addressed or resolved by the grievance committee. A meeting of the Grievance committee is held once a term. Each grievance is discussed and the action to be taken (wherever needed) is specified. The college has a policy and protocol for addressing grievances or complaints.
The protocol is as follows:
The grievance is handled first with the person towards whom the grievance is directed. If unresolved, the matter is taken up with the co-ordinator. If still unresolved, then the complaint reaches the attention of the Head of the Department. Finally if the matter is still not resolved, the grievance is brought to the notice of the Principal/Grievance Committee for redressal. Most grievances are dealt with promptly. Besides the students, teaching, non-teaching and support staff are also encouraged to utilize the grievance box for their complaints. An Advisory Committee as stipulated by the University of Mumbai has been constituted with representatives of reserved category members from Teaching and Non-Teaching staff to look into the grievances if any.
