The Department of English organized various activities during the Academic year which were received extremely well by the students of both Commerce and Science. The students exhibited unprecedented enthusiasm and came forward in large numbers to participate in the competitions. The Essay Writing competition was a challenging platform for the students to not only develop their critical thinking but also embellish their language by adorning their expression and exploring the wide horizons of their diction.

The Literary Fest 2015-16 invited the students to participate in Poetry Reading competition, Speech and Creative Advertisement Competition. The students read out the poems of renowned poets with immense grace and vigour. A few students presented their self-composed poems for which they received special recognition.

The speech section was dedicated to our former President, renowned scientist and visionary Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The students paid him their tribute in their own special way by memorizing his speeches and delivering his words of wisdom.

Creative Advertisement was a test of creativity, imagination and marketing skills. Organized as a group activity, the students exhibited teamwork and persuasive skills.

The role of the teachers of the Department of English in guiding and grooming the students requires a special mention. Taking it beyond their responsibility, they strived to bring out the best in each participant and showed a lot of personal involvement.

The Prize Distribution ceremony held on 23rd January saw the proud winners walking away with Certificates and Cash prizes. The Management generously sanctioned the Prize money in order to motivate our students. Our very special Thanks to them!!! This year saw the management, teachers and students teaming up to assert their love for English language.
