- Electives are offered only in the third year for the papers that are not studied by the student in the first and second year.
OPPORTUNITIES:
- Since there is a wide arena of choices that a commerce student can make in pursuing his/her aspired career, various subject related certificate courses can be introduced for the students.
- Since majority students are first generation learners, career counselling and guidance programs in the field of commerce can be organized.
- Tie-ups with corporate for conducting market research can prove to be beneficial for students in the long run.
- Introduction of Bridge courses will benefit the students at large since many are vernacular medium students and hence find it difficult to grasp concepts in the third year.
- Internships can be of great help for all the students, specially those who have completed second year and will be promoted to the third year.
- Students can be assisted in pursuing various professional courses.
CHALLENGES :
- The comprehensiveness of the topics covered in the syllabus needs continuous revision of the portion covered in the initial semesters.
- Lack of specialization in any one subject disinterests student’s to join plain BCom course.
