The WDC has been created to encourage and empower women. The main aim is to create a secure environment for girls and resolve complaints about sexual harassment within college premises.
The Women Development Cell of the college is a statutory body constituted under the Vice Chancellor’s Directives which seeks to promote the wellbeing of girl students, teaching and non-teaching women staff. It aims at creating social awareness about the problems of women and collaborates with NGOs working in the area of women’s development.
In case of any complaints/ grievances relating to sexual harassment, girl students and women staff are requested to contact any of the above-mentioned members for redressal.

In keeping with the above-mentioned objectives, the Women Development Cell of the college conducted the following activities during the academic year 2015-16
1.August 13, 2015: Talk on ‘Health and hygiene for women’ in collaboration with zivame.com
2.December 10, 2015: Screening of short film, ‘Soch Sahi, Mard Wahi’ followed by a discussion on the film
3.December 11, 2015: Elocution competition on the topic, ‘Violence behind closed doors’
4.December 12, 2015: Slogan writing competition on issues related to women.
5.Students of our college won the Consolation prize at the Inter-collegiate Street Play Competition on gender issues organized by M.D. College, Parel, in January 2016.
The Cell proposes to organize a talk on stress management for students in the third week of January, 2016.
